Upcoming Conference to Highlight Food Security in Central America

Global and regional experts will meet in El Salvador on September 10-11 to discuss new ways to enhance food and nutrition security in Central America.

The conference on Food and Nutrition Security in the Countries of Central America is organized by IFPRI , USAID , Feed the Future, CAC (Consejo Agropecuario Centroamericano), and SICA (Sistema de la Integracion Centroamericana). The event will focus on setting national and regional priorities to achieve poverty reduction and food and nutrition security; creating and implementing national plans to address prioritized actions; and identifying expert working groups to monitor each action plan.

Participants will include representatives from government agencies including Ministries of Finance and Agriculture, universities and research organizations, private sector companies, agricultural associations, and international development agencies.
